Residential Services

Transitional residential services are provided to adults who have a serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use conditions who have previously had significant challenges living independently. The services are provided in community-based home-like settings that promote recovery and development of independent living skills through a range of services, including behavioral health and psychiatric evaluations, medication management, daily group and individual counseling, nursing and psychiatry, peer support, case management, and care coordination. Clients each have a private room in a home-like environment that is only a short walk to the beach and close to public transportation. The average length of stay is 12 months. The program is funded by the County of San Diego, HHSA, Behavioral Health Services.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Adults ages 18 years and older with serious mental illness requiring structured residential treatment for up to 12 months
  • Must have SSI and Medi-Cal
  • Must have a Representative Payee upon Admission
